Working Experience for Prosecutors Reduced

12/10/05, “Media News” – The Georgian Parliament has discussed amendments to the law regarding prosecutors.

According to the law in force, prosecutors need 5 years of working experience in the legal field. In the initial new law project, the demand for working experience was dropped, but due to the active interference of the Committee for Legal Issues of the Georgian Parliament, the 5 years term was reduced to 1 year and a half.

The said reduction though, does apply to the General Prosecutor, to the deputies of the General Prosecutor and the Prosecutor of Adjara.
