Inhabitants of Delapidated Building Demand to Move to other Place

17/10/05. „Media News“ – Inhabitants of the Dadiani street have held a demonstration in the Sololaki district in Tbilisi. They demanded to be moved to another building.

The two story building, where 13 family lives, was built in 1905 and is the property of the Ministry of Culture, as it is classified as "cultural heritage".

"We asked for help at all responsible bodies. The Municipality promised to move us to  Lermontov street no. 8, but we are still here. Nobody knows when this building is going to collapse. This may end with fatallities.“- said one of the protesters.

According to the manager of the Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi region Kakha Guruli, it is impossible to reconstruct the building. "It is a cultural heritage site and therefore under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture,“- said Guruli.
