Socially Excluded Citizens Threaten with Demonstrations

19/10/05, “Media News” – “We Start”, an organization defending the rights of socially excluded citizens, is planning to organize demonstrations against the government.

The organization, which was created one month ago, consists of pensioners, unemployed, and other persons in difficult socio-economic circumstances.

According to the head of the organization Gia Berzenadze, the movement has put an ultimatum before the government. It demands working and living space for socially excluded persons from the government. If not, they find that it should step up.

Berzenadze says that the government has not replied to the ultimatum. This is the reason for the upcoming demonstrations.

The first big action named “Silence Rings” will be held on November the 4th throughout the whole of the country. Members of organisations, socially excluded people and their sympathizers will gather in front of the local city municipalities and other governmental buildings.

The details of the action planned for November the 4th were discussed at the movement’s meeting today. It became known as well that 12 non-governmental organisations support the movement.
