Balcony Collapsed in Tbilisi

04.12.2005, “Media News” – A balcony collapsed in the house located on 9 Mukhrani Street, Tbilisi. Two young sisters were standing on the balcony at the time of the accident. 9 year-old Teona and 11 year-old Ana Feradze were taken to the Children’s Hospital by ambulance.

According to the Mukhrani street inhabitants, it is the second time a balcony falls down. They accuse the Tbilisi Municipality and local government of inattentiveness.

“We have applied for help at different bodies for several times, but without any result. Nobody has even come here to assess the case; nobody is interested in our problem”, - say inhabitants of the house.

Representatives of the Gldani-Nadzaladevi administration visited the location soon after the accident. According to the head of administration Niko Khachirashvili, the mentioned block was on the list of dilapidated buildings. Niko Khachirashvili also visited the sisters in the hospital.
