120 Chechen Refugees Leave for their Home Country

Tbilisi.06.12.05. MediaNews. 120 Chechen Refugees living in the Pankisi Gorge are leaving for their home country. Only 120 out of 674 refugees in the gorge expressed their wish to return to the Russian Federation. The Russian Emigration Service assures their safe return to Chechnya.

The Ministry of Refugees and Placement of Georgia is also participating in the process of transfer. The task of the Georgian side is to prepare documentation and to provide the list of refugees to the Russian Emigration Service”- stated Zurab Mshvidobadze, head of the Department of Asylum Seekers and Refugees of the Ministry of Refugees and Placement.

Chechen refugees will fly from Tbilisi international airport with a special flight.
