 Riot Crushed in Rustavi Jail

Rustavi 30.01.06. “Media News”. “Prisoners of Rustavi Jail #1 unsuccessfully tried to rebel”, states the Penitentiary Department’s press service.

According to information spread by the Penitentiary Department, the incident had occurred today early in the morning, which left Temur Kokashvili, one of the prisoners, and an employee of the division of the Department injured.

Media News was informed that during the search of the detention facility illegal things were found. Prisoners tried to hide these objects and resisted the law enforcers. Additional forces were mobilized in order to avoid the riot. Consequently, the rebellion was smothered.

The Penitentiary Department states that the situation in the jail at the moment is stable and the search process has been peacefully fulfilled.
