Electricity and Water Switched Off in University Building

Tbilisi, 07.02.06, “Media News” – Lecturers and professors from Tbilisi State University continue their hunger strike.

The protest action started yesterday evening, initiated by Nestan Kirtadze. On the second day of the strike, Professors Nestan Kirtadze, Murman Togonidze, David Kadagidze, Demur Bakhtadze and a member of the alternative scientific council of the University, Ada Marshania, accused the administration of physical and moral abuse. “Last night was terrible for us protesters. The head of the University guard, Tamaz Tsiklauri, rushed at us several times, shouting and demanding that we leave the building. He even called the patrol police. The University administration has now taken to provocation; they have switched off electricity and water. We were walking throughout the night along the dark halls, otherwise we would have frozen,”- said NEstan Kirtadze to “Media news”.
