Journalist Wounded in Tbilisi

Journalist Makvala Nebieridze was wounded in front of her house in the evening on February 13.. Makvala Nebieridze is the author of a book on President Shevardnadze's political life. The book was published before the Rose Revolution. Besides, she was the member of investigative committee in the pre-Revolution Parliament.

According to journalist's husband Malkhaz Mermanishvili, during the incident he was with his wife at the entrance of their house and he heard only one shot. According to newspaper "Alia", Nebieridze was wounded by AKC machine gun bullet.

Right now the state of her health is satisfactory. According to the police, the journalist was wounded by a "blind bullet". However, Malkhaz Mermanishvili doesn't share that point of view.

Makvala Nebieridze has written a lot of critical articles about the high officials, including the law enforcers.

According to "Alia", the possibility that Nebieridze was wounded because of her professional activities cannot be ruled out.
