Drinking Water in Gori Polluted by ‘Kandelaki’ Owned Lake

The drinking water in one of the districts of Gori is being polluted time over time. According to Kako Khupenia, the head of the water providing company “Tskhalkanali”, pollution of the drinking water is caused by river Liakhvi and the lake owned by Kandelaki (champion in wrestling).

“The thing is that Kandelaki Lake is situated near the head building of the water canal. The water from the lake sometimes mixes with the drinking water and therefore we have to add more chlorine to it. River Liakhvi increases the drinking water pollution as well. A new canal from the head building to Liakhvi should be built which would connect the polluted water to the river, not to the drinking water reservoir” - declares the head of “Tskhalkanali”.
