Socially Excluded Women to Be Given Training

The Human Rights Information and Documentation Centre, with the Assistance of the Canadian Embassy, are beginning a project entitled the “Empowerment of Socially Excluded Women in Georgia”. The presentation of this project will be held today in the Ombudsman’s Office.

The aim of the project is to give training to socially excluded women in order to facilitate their further employment.

The duration of the project will be 5 months (15.03.06 – 15.08.06). During the project, socially excluded women (single mothers, internally displaced women, and victims of trafficking, ethnic and religious minorities, former prisoners) will be provided with intensive courses in the English language, accounting, and how to use computer programs. In addition to these courses, different training sessions and seminars will also be organized that will help develop their professional skills.
