‘Trialeti’ TV Company  Demands the Dismissal of Deputy Local Governor of Kaspi

The head of the Information Department of the ‘Trialeti’ TV Company (in Shida Kartli), Sophiko Rezrichenko, demands the dismissal of the Deputy Governor of Kaspi, Gogi Merebashvili. According to Rezrichenko, Merebashvili verbally assaulted Irma Kitriashvili, a correspondent for the TV Company. “The incident took place 5 months ago; however Merebashvili was later restored to the position of Head of Department. We think that he has no right to work for the Kaspi Government and we demand that the Governor dismisses him again”, stated Sophiko Rezrichenko.

According to Kaspi Governor, Genadi Khachidze, Merebashvili was fired because of the incident with the journalist 5 months ago. Nevertheless, the Shida Kartli Department of Constitutional Security did not find the Deputy Governor guilty and he was later restored to his position.
