The Hope of Social Aid lost between the City and Regional Administration

The Hope of Social Aid lost between the City and Regional Administration

Socially excluded people, who try to get financial aid from the Regional Administration, are trying in vain. The representatives of the Administration say that finances have already been spent to give financial support to 9960 people. The Regional Administration sends socially excluded citizens to the City Administration, because that body is responsible for finding funds for that purpose.

It is also impossible to get money from the City Administration, say people, who are asking for help, as the City Administration also does not have any money. “I walked 14 kilometers to get 50 GEL. I am 75 years old, so you can imagine, what this money means for me,” said Vakhtang Kharbedia.

65 years old Raisa has been searching for her financial support for more than a month: “I live alone and I also need the money very much, I cannot even afford to buy medicines. Why can I not get support, when others can? It is not fair!”
Every Friday, more then 30 people wait for financial support in the Administration buildings. This money is their only chance for survival.
