Civil Lawyers Meet Public Defender of Georgia

Tbilisi, 05.05.06, ‘Media News’ – Civil lawyers from the Ministry of Justice met, Sozar Subari, the Public Defender of Georgia and discussed existing problems in legal practice with him. According to the lawyers, the problems they face frequently are; court hearings always starting very late and both sides have to wait for couple of hours in the hall and judges almost always use preliminary detention as a sanction.

The Ombudsman and Civil Lawyers agreed to cooperate and exchange information to improve the systemic problems in the judiciary.
