Goods Detained Illegally at the Adli Custom’s Office

Yesterday, the construction company LTD “Mercury” held press conference. The second case has been observed of detaining imported constructing materials from Turkey at the Adli Custom’s check point for uncertain period of time. The goods are imported by the firm “Mercury”. The reason of this is non-calculation of custom taxes which will need certain time and due to this the firm suffers losses.

“On July 13, in accordance with the acting law, LTD “Mercury” imported building goods from Turkey. Realization of goods is fulfilled in the shops. Such kind of material is usual and common for any type of building company. At the conference the firm introduced the documents related to the production of goods and price invoices alongside with the existing declaration. However, for finding out the exact market price, for the first time Custom’s Office appealed to the independent expert and then the financial police. Why the Financial Police should set the prices of goods? This chain reaction is stretching through time. It has to be noticed that the custom’s office tries to delay fulfillment of its obligations and responsibilities. And this will do harm to the enterprenual business of the firm”, - announced Malkhaz Abuladze - firm lawyer.

According to the statement of the firm authority, for the first time “Mercury” experienced the loss covering 2 thousand dollars. LTD “Mercury” intends to bring a suit in the court and demand reimbursement of all the losses.

As for the goods, they have been detained at the Adli Custom’s Office Terminal since June 13 and are still awaiting for fixing the price by the experts.
