Abkhazian Units Fires Georgian Special Force Combatants in Kodori Gorge

Tbilisi. 07.08.06. Media News. Today, in the morning Abkhazian armed formations based near Kodori Gorge village of Lata opened fire to Georgian Interior Ministry Special Force combatants.

As ‘Media News’ was informed by reliable sources separatists were firing from large-caliber machine-guns and grenade-machines towards Georgian positions.

During the fire unit of 20 men tried to change its position towards Georgian side, however they cancelled their attempt after Georgian side had warned them against moving along, otherwise they would open retaliatory fire.

As shown by the reliable sources, Georgian armed subunits detain from opening retaliatory fire, but if further piercing of Georgian positions, adequate measures should be certainly taken.
