Veterans Protest In Front of the Municipality Building

Tbilisi, 22.08.2006, ‘Media News’ – The Union of Veterans held protest in front of the Municipality building today. According to protesters, they want to show people that government is cheating them.

Members of the Union of Veterans protest against insurance policy, run by the Tbilisi Municipality. Protesters say that they are not able to use the insurance and demand financing hospital treatment.

According to Mamuka Katsarava, the head of Civil Service of Health and Social Issues of Tbilisi Municipality, protest is a provocation. 52 thousand people are using health insurance and the project was very much appreciated by the international organizations. Medical insurance for the veterans of 3000 GEL, is financed by the Municipality.
