Reception Department of the Tbilisi Detention Setting # 5 Started 24 Hours Working Day

The reportage from the Tbilisi Detention Setting #5 made by a journalist for the Human Rights Center had an outcome. The reportage dealt with the problem of sending parcels in the prison and gave detailed information about the queues in which relatives of the prisoners have to stand days and nights. 

After the reportage was published, the topic was widely broadcast by TV companies too. Finally, according to the Georgian Justice Ministry, the reception department of the Tbilisi Prison # 5 has started 24-hour-working day. Officials from the Ministry stated that their decision aimed at reducing the number of people in the queues. The relatives of the prisoners can send the parcels everyday except Saturday.
