In Telavi Public Information Is Blocked for Non-Governmental Organizations

April 2, 2007

On March 31, Young Lawyers Association’s Telavi Office hosted the meeting of the local NGOs where they discussed the problem of having been refused to receive public information from the Telavi Municipality.

The Head of the Young Lawyers Association’s Telavi Office, Lela Taliuri said that after the local self-governmental elections, non-governmental organizations as well as their representatives have been unable to receive public information at the Municipality.

After the discussion the Kakheti region NGOs decided to petition Gia Natsvlishvili, the President’s representative to the Kakheti region.

Natsvlishvili has already met the representatives of the local NGOs once and offered them cooperation.
