President of Armenian Center for Cooperation in Georgia, blames Georgian print media, for anti-Armenian hysteria

May 16, 2007

“I declare publicly: newspapers “Asaval-Dasavali and Georgian Times belong to “black” instead of “yellow” press. The facts are frequently inaccurately covered, creating negative impression about Armenians”- said Elchan.

Armenian Center for Cooperation tracks and collects the printed materials kindling hostility among the nations  and in the near future the society intends to sue for libel and insult.

Anti-Armenian  information has appeared on local Internet forums – she said. Elchan believes that the neighboring Turkey, having its own long-time plans in the region, is giving orders in this direction.
According to Giorgi Kapanadze, Editor-in-chief of Georgian Times the newspaper is interested in bearing friendly relationship with Armenia but if someone, unofficially but still, claims to several hundreds of Georgian churches, we can afford  to print  a number of  extracts out of Georgian-Armenian relationship.
