Composers Appeal to the European Court against Georgian State

July 13, 2007

Georigan Composers Union is about to bring suit to the European Court.

Yesterday, members of the Composers Union stated at the board meeting that the Borjomi rest-house, which belongs to the Union, was inserted on the list of privatization buildings. They said it is illegal and immoral fact.

Vazha Azarashvili, the head of the union said it is obscure why the Ministry of Economics registered the rest-house of Composers Union as state property.

The union members have already appealed to the Borjomi District Court and soon they will appeal to the European Court too.

The Ministry of Economics demands the composers to remove all kinds of equipment from the building before September 1.
