“Government Forces People to Go to Tbilisi”

November 2, 2007
“On November 3 buses will stop in the center of the city and you will travel to Tbilisi for free to take part in the demonstration supporting the Georgian integration in NATO,” it was announced in Kutaisi public schools this week. Kutaisi resource center organized the gathering of teachers and pupils of the schools and funded their transportation as well.

The society disliked the appeal. “They intend to oppose the protest demonstration of November 2. They have planned it on purpose in order to show off before the president Saakashvili. On November 3 they will take people like they did it on October 31 and brought people from Imereti districts to Kutaisi to meet the president. On that day people were taken from their plots and gardens. They closed all public offices from the very morning and now they will repeat the same,” said teachers from Kutaisi.

Nevertheless, they do not exclude that public officials will find some teachers who will obey the orders of the president and go to the capital on November 3.
