Verdict/Judgment on Bachana Akhalai to Be Delivered at the Next Hearing
Prosecutor and defence made final speeches at the trial on a former interior minister Bachana Akhalaia and other accused persons in the case of torture of seven riot police officers. Judge Davit Mgeliashvili will give the judgment in a few days.

Criminal Case Was Launched on Production-Use of Fraud ID Card in the Name of Akhmeta District Interim Governor
Akhmeta municipal board did not approve Beka Baidauri to the position of district governor; he is a friend of Akhmeta district majoritarian MP Zurab Zviadauri and occupied position of interim district governor after parliamentary election of 2012. Chairman of Municipal Board Zakaria Kinkladze said they had learned that faked ID card was issued on Beka Baidauri and criminal case was launched on the fact; on that ground the board did not approve him to the position.

GYLA Does not Agree with the Densus Survey
Based on the order of the US State Department Company Densus prepared a conclusion about the events of May 26, 2011. According to the survey results, police used proportionate force when dispersing protest demonstration on May 26; demonstrators were armed with shields and truncheons. Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, which also published survey conclusion with regard to the events of May 26, does not agree with the Densus’ conclusion in several aspects.

About 50 members quitted political coalition Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia in Lanchkhuti and joined Nino Burjanadze’s party. Former members of the Coalition said although they left the GD, they still support Bidzina Ivanishvili and his policy and believe that tandem of Burjanadze and Ivanishvili is best way to save the country.

21 Years after the Armed Conflict in Abkhazia
On August 14, 1992 armed conflict broke out in Abkhazia. Main phase of military operations lasted 13 months and 13 days and finished on September 27, 1993 with the fall of Sokhumi. After the war, about 300 000 people had to flee from Abkhazia. About 10 000 soldiers and civilians were killed in military operations.

Local Budget Covers Debts Accumulated by Football Club
Local budget funded football club Guria with 400 000 lari this year. In addition to that, the FC debt of 340 000 lari is covered from the local budget. At the last session of the Lanchkhuti municipal board’s bureau, participants made decision to take a bank credit of 94 000 lari to pay salary arrears of football players; the interests of the credit will be paid from the budget too.
