Cars of Nino Burjanadze’s Party Members Were Confiscated in Kutaisi

May 13, 2009

Cars were confiscated from Nino Burjanadze’s party members.

As the party members stated today at the press conference held in Kutaisi, yesterday Patrol Police officers confiscated the cars from three members of the party for not abiding traffic rules and fined them with 200 GEL.

Supporters of Burjanadze’s party consider this fact to be oppression of the opposition and judge it as an effort to discredit the political coalition.

According to Bakur Balanchivadze, the representative of the party Democratic Movement for United Georgia and former Mayor of Kutaisi, it is possible that the confiscation of the cars from three members of the party happened in different districts at the same time.

As the party members said, the Ministry of Internal Affairs had already intervened Patrol Police in a fight against the opposition.
