December 16, 2009

Visits to medical clinics, family and village doctors are free because of increased number of H1N1 infection. Nikoloz Pruidze, the deputy minister of healthcare stated several days ago about it. Despite this decision, visits to village doctors or clinics in Gurjaani District are not free.

According to locals, they visited the village doctor because of complicated flue and requested her to visit them at home. The doctor requested 10 GEL for the visit. People should pay about 15 GEL for the doctor visit in Gurjaani District.

According to Sopiko Kumsiashvili, the chief doctor in Gurjaani District Medical Clinic, the treatment of people of the age between 6 and 60 is not free.

“We have not received any new direction or recommendation because of H1N1 virus, but because of the general situation in the country, the doctors serve patients for free based on their own wish. As for visiting the sick person, it is still paid,-stated Kumsiashvili.
