The Life of 23-year-old Girl Is In Danger Because the Government Ceased Allowance on Her

February 5, 2010

Social Agency ceased social allowance for the family of Ivanishvilis, residents of the village of Pshaveli in Telavi District. The member of family – 23-year-old Natia Ivanishvili has blood disease and needs expensive treatment. The family managed to save her life with the medicines they received within State Social Program.

“Natia needs 1 000 GEL a month for blood-transfusions and medicines. 5 people live in our family and my son keeps the family whose income is 180 GEL. We have no other income. The house is damaged and will soon destroy. The social worker evaluated us again and considered that our rating point rose from 48 000 to 90 000 and they stopped social allowance”, stated Dali Ivanishvili, the mother of Natia Ivanishvili.

According to Otar Sesikashvili, the head of Kakheti Region Coordinating Centre of Social Agency, they can check the social-economic condition of the family only in May.
