Transparency International Evaluated Bakhutovi’s Case as Hard Occasion

February 26, 2010

The case of Aleks Bakhutov was included in the report of influential organization Transparency International and it is considered as a hard occasion.

“Case of Alecks Bakhutov is more complicated case. He was compelled to plead guilty in the murder of Lasha Chopikashvili. He named two more people who took part in the murder to form plea-bargain. Bakhutov was sent to prison for 8 years, but later it turned out that the killed person was alive. Despite the fact, they did not discharge Bakhutov. He was accused in attempted murder and was discharged a year later”, it is said in the report.

The officials of Telavi Police detained Bakhutov on January 27, 2007, who was accused in murder. The law enforcement officers got his testimony after his torturing. They did not launch the case on the fact of torture.
