Prisoner Transffered to Hospital from Telavi Detainment Cell

Due to the deteroriation of his health situation, the prisoner Mamuka Chalabashvili has been transferred to Tbilisi hospital from Telavi preliminary detainment cell by the ambulance brigade. According to his lawyer Marekhi Mgaloblishvili, the prisoner is severely beaten and inflicted with numerous bodily ijuries.

“Mamuka Chalabashvili was detained on May 26th during the crackdown of the protest rally in Tbilisi. He was imposed with the 30-day administrative imprisonment due to the disobedience to the police officials. According to his statement, he was severely beaten by the Special Forces. The bodily injuries are visible. He felt bad in the detainment cell and was transferred to Telavi hospital and then to Tbilisi,” – noted Marekh Mgaloblishvili, the head of Telavi Office of Young Lawyers Association (GYLA).
