Photographer from Kutaisi Alleges He Was Beaten

November 1, 2011

Photographer from Roberto Qvelini took photos of his girl-friend in Kutaisi center several weeks ago; the girl was naked. On November 1, the photographer wrote on his wall in Facebook that he was beaten.

“I am beaten because I was beaten; I was beaten because I am a photographer; I was beaten because I have a blanjet; I am beaten by homophobic Georgians. Now I have one desire to flee from Georgia. Please, be kind and assist me in running from Georgia. The builder will never be happy in this city; neither human mentality will flourish here… “human beings” will never live in this city. You might have learned what happened near the White Bridge,” Roberto Qvelini wrote on his wall.

The photos taken by Roberto Qvelini attracted public interest soon. He took photos of his naked girl-friend in Kutaisi center on the bank of the Rioni River in front of people which caused different reaction from society.
