President’s Administration Not To Sue Court’s Judgment on Ekaterina Khvedelidze’s Case

January 25, 2012

The president’s administration is not going to appeal against the Tbilisi City Court’s judgment on the recovery of Ekaterina Khvedelidze’s Georgian citizenship.

“Our answer to this question is very short – NO. The President’s administration is not going to appeal against the Tbilisi City Court’s decision on this case,” said the President’s Spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze.

On December 27, 2011 the Tbilisi City Court annulled the President’s decree on stripping of Georgian citizenships from businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili’s wife Ekaterina Khvedelidze.

As for Bidzina Ivanishvili’s citizenship, Manjgaladze said the businessman’s party has appealed to the Civil Registration Agency and the latter will respond to them regarding the issue.

Manjgaladze added that every procedure is implemented under the law.
