Data Akhalaia’s Lawyer Spread Statement

Data Akhalaia’s lawyer Irakli Zakareishvili said he had full authority to confirm authenticy of his client’s statement.

Irakli Zakareishvili spread second statement too which Interpresnews also published: “Several people are busy to evaluate my competence…I would like to tell the interested people, that Davit Akhalaia has well-experienced and qualified lawyer as I am so it is not easy to mislead me. I did confirm with journalists that the statement published on the Facebook belonged to Mr. Davit Akhalaia. When making the statement I possessed reliable information and had authority to confirm that the statement text belonged to Davit Akhalaia. I believe if I had refrained from making clarifications, I would have disrespected myself and the society in general.”

Former senior official of the Constitutional Security Department of MIA Data Akhalaia spread statement in social network on April 15. As Akhalaia said one man – Vano Merabishvili is guilty in all disasters that happened in Georgia.

“I have been observing ongoing painful situation in my country for the seventh month away from my homeland. I think, analyze the past and am getting more and more convinced that only one man triggered all the disasters that happened in Georgia; the man who destroyed the government and the country in his struggle against me and my brother,” Akhalaia wrote.

Besides that, Akhalaia said Lapankuri incident was planned by Vano Merabishvili and implemented by Giorgi Lortkipanidze against his brother Bacho Akhalaia.

On the same day, on April 15, Akhalaia’s lawyer Zakareishvili confirmed with IPN that the statement really belonged to his client.

Family members and relatives of Data Akhalaia doubt about authenticy of the statement.
