Tbilisi City Court will hear Gigi Ugulava’s case tomorrow. InterPressNews was told by Tbilisi City Hall, the court will discuss removing “illegally obtained evidences” from the case. Prosecutor’s office accuses Ugulava of employing 750 citizens at “Tbilservice Group” and paying them salary and misappropriation of other’s property and legalizing illicit income by depriving Joseph Kay of the Broadcasting company “Imedi”.

The City Hall says that the main evidences were obtained by the investigation by the blatant violation of Georgian law, international conventions and they have not legal power.

Ugulava’s lawyers demanded removal of specific evidences from the case and some witnesses from the list to be questioned in court like Joseph Kay who “managed” to give two absolutely identical testimonies consisting of 600 words in 5 months.
As for the testimonial reliability of Joseph Kay, the court was presented with London, Florida and Gibraltar courts’ decisions. According to their reports, Mr. Kay is a person who can’t give credible answers to the questions. The City Hall informs that there are witnesses in the case who were questioned by the investigation at night, which is violation of law.

The trial is the continuation of 19 June process, which was cancelled by the request of the prosecutor’s office.
