Incident takes place between Akhalaia’s lawyers and Giorgi Gabedava

An incident has taken place in the Tbilisi City Court before the start of trials of Bacho Akhalaia and the clergymen. Namely, a verbal confrontation took place between Bacho Akhalaia’s lawyers and Giorgi Gabedava, one of the attendants at the clergymen’s trial. 

According to Akhalaia’s lawyers Goga Oniani and Romeo Sajaia, Bacho Akhalaia’s father Roland Akhalaia threw a cup at Giorgi Gabedava after the latter made an offensive remark. 

After the incident, Goga Oniani said all this was a result of the amnesty during which a lot of unevaluated people were granted the status of political prisoners. 

The trials of the clergymen and Bacho Akhalaia were scheduled for 12:00 in the Tbilisi City Court.
