On December 10, Human Rights Center and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia presented a documentary movie “E-TEAM” by Katy Chevigny and Ross Kauffman to mark the International Day of Human Rights in Gurjaani. The screening was organized in the Gurjaani Puppet Theatre. The film shows how HRW researchers work on the ground in different hot sites of the world, like Syria, Libya and Kosovo.

The main characters of the movie are Human Rights Watch researchers Anna Neistat (Russian Federation); Ole Solvang (Norway); Peter Bouckaert and Fred Abrahams.

“The film aims to inform the society how the human rights violation facts are documented by human rights researchers. Also the film strives to disclose human rights abuses,” regional director of the Institute for Peace and War Reporting (IWPR) Beka Bajelidze said.

After the screening the discussion was organized. Beka Bajelidze of IWPR moderated the discussion.

“We learned true information about ongoing discussion in hot spots. Similar facts of human rights violations must be eradicated because they are crimes committed against humanity,” Dali Shishniashvili said.

The 2014 movie lasts 89 minutes. Human Rights Center translated the movie into Georgian language. The film will be screened in Georgian with English subtitles.
