The Candidacy of Public Defender Introduced to the President

On July 6, 2004, a meeting between NGOs and the President was held. At the meeting, Sozar Subari, a member of “Liberty Institute,” was appointed to the position of Public Defender. The president is going to introduce the candidacy of the Public Defender at the next parliamentary session for discussion.

It is notable that many independent human rights NGOs were not invited to the meeting.
