Dmanisi Residents Demand Land Reform

Tbilisi.16.05.05.MediaNews. The residents of the Dmanisi village Zemo Ozmai have held a protest action in front of the State Chancellory in Tbilisi.

They demand that the government give them land for agricultural use, declaring that since the Shevardnadze period 2,500 hectares of land are in the hands of one person, while local residents are left without any land of their own.

According to protesters, they applied to the local authorities for help many times over a period of two years, but nothing was done. Therefore, they say, the last available action was to come to Tbilisi and demonstrate before the government.
