A Prisoner of Ossetian Nationality Committed Suicide

Tbilisi. 03.07.05. Media News. An inmate of Geguti prison hanged himself by his own shirt.

The prisoner was Albert Zasaev, a resident of the North Ossetian village of Oktomberi.

As Nana Kakabadze, the head of the NGO “Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights” said in her interview with “Media News”, Albert Zasaev was imprisoned for illegal crossing of border and keeping drugs.

Albert Zasaev was taken to Geguti prison on 17 May.

According to Nana Kakabadze, the prison administration says that the prisoner was mentally sick.

Albert Zasaev was imprisoned for 4 years.
