Head of Regional Public Health Department Fired 

Head of Guria Labor, Public Health, Social Security Levan Skamkochaishvili, who's suspected of beating the correspondents of newspaper "Guriis Moambe", has been fired.

Georgian Minister of Labor, Public Health and Social Security Lado Chipashvili sacked Skamkochaishvili last week. According to the Ministry's press service, Skamkochaishvili was fired because of beating the journalists.

According to newspaper "Guriis Moambe", Levan Skamkochaishvili beat the journalists on July 28 in his own office.

Ozurgeti Police launched a criminal case over the incident. Skamkochaishvili has been questioned as a suspect.
