Wild animals attack flocks in summer fields of Khulo district. Pastures have to be very attentive when pasturing sheep in the field. One hunter is appointed for each field to protect flock; he threats beasts by shooting gun. However, locals said population cannot effectively cope with the problem alone. They urge the government for help.

Sisters from Gori – Ia and Lika Kolbaias were together sacked from Gori military hospital. They applied to Human Rights Center’s Gori office. According to the presented materials, Kolbaias had received bonuses in March and May of 2013 for excellent work and performance. In June, head of the hospital Irakli Kurtskhalia sacked them from work.

Recommendation of the Public Defender Concerning Security at Workplace

According to paragraph “b” of Article 21 of the Organic Law of Georgia on Public Defender of Georgia, the Public Defender addressed the Government of Georgia with a recommendation to initiate ratification of The Labor Inspection Convention (No. 81), the Labor Inspection (Agriculture) Convention (No. 129), Occupational Safety and Health Convention (No. 155) and Article 3 (Right to Safe and Healthy Working Conditions) of the European Social Charter, in order to ensure protection of one of the main components of the labor rights – right to healthy and safe working environment.
First Round of Seminars in the Frame of the Coalition for Trust Held in Tbilisi

First round of seminars in the frame of the project “South Caucasus Coalition for Rebuilding of Trust” was held in Tbilisi. The project is implemented by Norwegian Helsinki Committee in partnership with local nongovernmental organizations in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. Human Rights Center and Public Movement Multinational Georgia are project partners in Georgia. The project recruited three target groups – journalists, civil activists and students.
