Representatives of Human Rights Center talk about unfair attitude towards female prisoners. According to the human rights defenders, the formation of new provision of the article 260 of Criminal Code of Georgia provides separation of sale of narcotics from purchasing, possessing and transferring. They welcome this fact; however, the change did not affect the article 262 of CC, which instilled feeling of injustice and protest in female convicts.

Human Rights House Tbilisi provides a legal assistance to Junus Aripov and Dilara Aripova, whose claim for the residence, submitted to the court by the human rights’ defenders, was not upheld.
„Free Democrats” will appeal in the court against the decision of the City Assembly

Dismissal of the deputy chair of the assembly was one of the issues in the agenda of the Khashuri Municipality Assembly meeting on July 20. A member of the Free Democrats, Giorgi Tkhadiashvili was dismissed from the position of the deputy chair by 18 votes. 9 members of the assembly did not vote for Tskhadiashvili’s dismissal.

According to them, the birth date of the twins who were born on different days by surrogate mothers was registered on the same calendar day.
New Occupation Line

On July 10, on the surrounding area of village Tsitelubani of Gori district and village Ortchosani of occupied district Akhalgori, near the Tbilisi-Gori central highway, the representatives of Russian occupation forces moved so-called border banners 300 meters into the Georgia-controlled territory. According to the new occupation line, a part of Baku-Supsa pipeline turned up within the occupied territory.
Children Begging on the Streets

“When people see a child, they feel more empathy and help us”, -this is a statement of a woman who begs in the subway passage. According to her, she used to live in an apartment in Saburtalo district, because of the difficult economic situation, she sold the apartment and now she is renting a flat. She is a single mother, who no longer receives a social allowance. She decided to go out on streets with her child for begging.

The Commission does not Release Seriously Ill Convicts

Convict Inga Tsuladze has been in prison N5 for 5 years. Her health condition is extremely severe. A lawyer of Human Rights Center, Tamar Avaliani protects Inga Tsuladze’s rights regarding health issues. She addressed the joint permanent commission of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia to release Inga Tsuladze from serving the remaining sentence.

In June 2015, Organization Transparency International - Georgia has released a Report on National Integrity System Assessment in Georgia. Georgian citizens Ucha Nanuashvili and Mikheil Sharashidze appealed to the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the constitutional claim (registration N547) on December 12, 2012. The claim was prepared in Human Rights Center. The Constitutional Court by the first panels’ protocol record N1/1/547 of July 4 2013, received the constitutional claim for an substantial hearing. Meeting of the substantial hearing was held on January 30, 2014, by oral hearing.
