Giorgi Akhvlediani: “Government is embarrassed by its Own Decree”

October 26, 2010
Giorgi Akhlvediani, leader of parliamentary fraction Christina-Democrats reprimands the government for issuing the decree, demonstration of which is embarrassing.

As Giorgi Akhvelidani stated at today’s plenary session, the government issued a decree in January according to which the Senior Citizens will have to co-finance the living in the shelters. Particularly, extremely poor elders have to pay 90 GEL and the rest – 150 GEL.

“The fact that this decree is ridiculous and impracticable is confirmed by the representatives of government,” – stated Akhvlediani and added that no Senior Citizen has been imposed such an obligation yet in the shelters.

Deputy can’t understand why the government issues such an embarrassing decree and why the Senior Citizens should be afraid of its operation.
