Veterans Detained at the Hero Square Were Charged for Minor Hooliganism and Disobediences to Police Officers

The veterans detained at the Hero Square were convicted according to the Administrative Code of Georgia with the article 166 and 173, which envisages minor hooliganism and disobedience to the police officers’ lawful request. 

The attorney of the detainee, Gela Nikolaishvili reported to “Interpresnews” that the above-mentioned articles envisage fine of 400 GEL or 90 days administrative imprisonment However, as Nikolaishvili thinks the fines will be imposed on veterans after what they will be released.

The attorney met the detainees yesterday at 12:00 am in the pretrial detention setting #2 in Digomi district, Tbilisi. According to Nikolaishvili the two detainees Shota Iamanidze and Malkhaz Topuria were beaten. Topuria thinks he has his rib broken. The attorney said the detainees allege they were beaten during detention; afterwards they were not intimidated.

According to Elguja Chkhaidze, only seven detainees were taken to the detention setting. They are: Amur Rvishvil, Levan Asatiani, Valerian Dzebisashvili, Shota iamanidze, Malkhaz Topuria, Shota Zgudadze, and Lova Asatrian.
