Police Killed Sought For Murder and Robbery in Double Shooting

On February 8, Avtandil Butskhrikidze sought for murder and robbery was killed during the special operation.

According to the MIA, Avtandil Butskhrikidze resisted police officers and opened fire at them. As a result of the double shooting police officer Emzar Kashia was wounded and the sought person died on the place.

The court had imposed life-sentence on Butskhrikidze in 2010. The officers of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regional police department estimated the location of the sought person.

According to MIA, in 2004, Avtandil Butskhrikidze together with Nugzar Butskhrikidze and Gaga Cheishvili attacked two citizens and abducted their cars under threat of gun. After that, he opened fire at law enforcement officers which resulted into death of police officers Roin Robakidze, Nugzar Shvangiradze, Giorgi Khatiashvili and local resident Tamaz Shalikiani. Nugzar Butskhrikidze and Gaga Cheishvili were killed and Avtandil Butskhrikdize managed to escape police officers during the same accident.
