Green, Pink and Colorless Voters in National Movement’s Headquarters in Gardabani

September 13, 2012

Manon Bokuchava, Kvemo Kartli

On September 11 we visited National Movement’s headquarters in Agmashenebeli Avenue in Gardabani. The office was opened in support of Giorgi (Temur) Peikrishvili, majoritarian candidate from the National Movement in Gardabani.

We found three people in the office. They politely welcomed us and offered coffee and “cold water.” Head of the HQ told us on the phone that he was unable to meet us because he was in Tbilisi. However, before his call, HQ members said the head had gone to the Gardabani District Election Commission.

Despite our presence in the office, the HQ members started sorting out of voters’ lists. We asked why voters were marked in pink or green color on the lists and they answered those voters in green are the UNM supporters and pinks are in the opposition. Those who are not marked yet, have not made their minds yet,” said the HQ member.

They mark lists; we ask them questions and take photos; they give us answers together and more benefit too.”

On the lists people in green are fewer than those who have not made their minds yet. We joked their [UNM] business was not going well and they replied: “It is a list of only Gardabani district, but we are verifying only one district. We have many more lists. Greens aren’t few,” the HQ member said.
