Public Defender Tried to Estimate Whereabouts of Davit Akobia

Media sources reported that officer of the Gldani prison # 8 Davit Akobia was arrested; he had recorded the horrible torture of prisoners. His lawyer Salome Abuladze reported to media sources.

The lawyer said she did not know whereabouts of Davit Akobia.

Employees of the Prevention and Monitoring Department of the Public Defender’s Office try to estimate the location of Davit Akobia. As soon as they get information, the public relation department of the Public Defender’s Office will spread statement.

News outlets have disseminated information that the officer of the Gldani Establishment No. 8, Davit Akobia, who shot the shocking videos of torture of prisoners was detained. The news outlets were told about this by Davit Akobia’s lawyer, Salome Abuladze. The lawyer explained that she did not know the whereabouts of Davit Akobia.

Employees of the Department of Prevention and Monitoring of the Public Defender of Georgia are trying to ascertain the whereabouts of Davit Akobia. As soon as we receive the information, the Department of Public Relations of the Public Defender’s Office will disseminate a corresponding statement.
