Companies of Iago Chocheli, Laura Gachava and Giorgi Isakadze Are Ready to Reimburse Damage to Cartu Bank

Part of companies, who according to the MIA, participated together with former senior governmental officials in criminal scheme of bankruptcy of Cartu Bank, is ready to reimburse the damage. Head of legal department of the Cartu Group Ala Kakhniauri told Interpresnews about it.

Kakhniauri clarified that Ltd Interplast of former governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti regional governor Iago Chocheli, JSC Pirimze and Ltd Sartorial Plant Laura Gachava - enterprises of close relatives of Erekle Kodua, former head of Criminal Police Department at MIA and enterprises Ltd Logosi and White House of Giorgi Isakadze, former head of Association of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs are ready to pay credit debts to Cartu Bank.

“There are 21 companies who owe some money to Cartu Bank and among them companies of Iago Chocheli, Laura Gachava and Giorgi Isakadze are ready to again mortgage their properties in the bank that they cancelled when participating in criminal scheme and are ready to reimburse all damage the bank received as a result of their criminal actions,” Ala Kakhniauri clarified.

Besides, head of legal department said investigation has already interrogated the leaders of the aforementioned companies.

According to MIA, organized criminal scheme was working with the purpose to bankrupt Cartu Bank. Besides former senior political officials, businessmen related with the former government participated in this scheme.

“In November of 2011 the former Minister of Justice, Zurab Adeishvili summoned Jaba Ebanoidze, the former head of Revenue Service in his cabinet. Adeishvili informed Ebanoidze about the bankrupt scheme of Kartu Bank and gave order to start acting. On his part Jaba Emaboidze trusted this mission to the former head of Audit department Mamuka lashkhia and Deputy Head of the Main Division Otar Agladze. The mentioned individuals contacted owners of companies who were deemed as close alias of the government and owned to Kartu Bank at the same time. Such companies are as followes: Interplast LTD owned by Iago Chocheli, the governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Pirimze Joint Stock Company and Laura Ghatchava Plant LTD –owned by close relatives of Erekle Kodua the former Head of Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Interior, LTD Logos and Tetri Sakhli Company owned by Giorgi Isakadze. All of the companies under the previous consent with the Revenues Service officials have declared about their non-existing tax loan. National Bureau of Enforcement held fabricated auction with no result of selling, as a result of which the property was handed over to the Ministry of Economy which sold property under the decree issued by the president,” statement of the MIA issued on December 17.

Businesswoman Laura Gachava said both “Cartu” and JSC Pirmize and Factory Laura Gachava were victimized in the case on attempted bankruptcy of Cartu Bank.

Gachava spoke about the case when commenting on the statement made by Nino Giorgobiani, head of press-center of the MIA; Giorgobiani had said former minister of justice Zurab Adeishvili and several other senior officials participated in the bankruptcy scheme of Cartu Bank and they acted with the support of businessmen whose companies had some debts to the bank. Among those companies were companies owned by Laura Gachava, mother of Erekle Kodua, former head of Criminal Police Department.

Gachava was asked “who and how ordered her to admit tax debts to the state in order to cause bankruptcy of Cartu bank” and Gachava avoided to answer concrete answer and clarified she could not speak about details because of investigation interests.

“Investigation is underway. I was already questioned and they asked not to speak much about this case due to investigation interests. They might again summon me. I can tell you one thing that both parties in this case – Cartu Bank and my companies were victimized. Everything was planned higher. Investigation knows better than I do who was customer of this case and what really happened. I just know that I have to pay debt at Cartu Bank which I had not paid since December of 2011 and was fined for that,” said Gachava.
