Argveta Population Threats with Blocking the Road

January 23, 2013

Population of Argveta village in Zestaponi district threats with blocking the Zestaponi-Kutaisi motorway. They protest hard ecological conditions in the village and request attention from the new government. They say the problem is caused by the Ferroalloy Factory, which is located in the area.

“Situation is alarming not only in our village but in Zestaponi district. Air, soil, water and out health are polluted,” Argveti population claims.

Member of the Zestaponi municipal board Kakha Shavgulidze met villagers and heard their problems. He said the problem is serious and shall be immediately resolved.

Unless the problem is resolved in near future, the villagers intend to block the motorway.
