Entrepreneur Requests to Put Law on Food Safety in Force

February 11, 2013

Market overwhelmed with falsified products, deceived customers and oppression on the entrepreneur from the local authority – these questions were raised by Amberki Dvalishvili, president of the Beer and Alcohol-free Drinks Company Aia at the special press-conference on February 7.

“Falsified lemonade has occupied Kutaisi and the entire country. The cheep product contains poisoning substance and threats health of the customers. In parallel to it, the enterprise of Aia, which is equipped with modern technologies and works with high ecological standards, gets victimized by current illegality in the country,” said Dvalishvili.

Amberki Dvalishvili spoke about oppression facts from the local authority and said the company is not allowed to compete with other products occupying the local market.

Aia has been working on the Georgian market for 20 years already.

“It is shameful when residents of the city, where Mitropane Lagidze produced first lemonade in 1900, drink the worst lemonade ever because of current uncontrolled situation in the country,” said Dvalishvili. He requests to put the Law on Food Safety into force and has already petitioned to the parliament of Georgia about it.
