People Connected to ministry of agriculture case are deprivated freedom procedure

From 8 accused people in waste of 2.5 million GEL in the ministry of agriculture 4 were conformed preliminary imprisonment by Tbilisi city court on May 4, and one of them was fined with 5 000 GEL.

“Court considered that testimonies introduced by the accusation side is enough for argued supposition, that there is a danger to hide accused people and commit a new crime,”-it is said in press-release of Tbilisi city court.

Officials work for ministry of agriculture and agrarian departments connected with it are detained with accusation of waste lots of state money, official indifference and pressure of experts. The talk is about wasting of money during purchasing tractors and other agricultural aggregates in the frame of large-scale state project processing in agricultural field.

Because of this fact, Davit Kirvalidze, minister of agriculture left his post. According to him, he asked to suspense his duty until the truth will be obvious.
 
Large part of his colleagues liked his step as a courageous decision full of political responsibilities.
