Judge Conference Elected Judge Members of the Supreme Council of Justice

Special conference of judges elected judge members of the Supreme Council of Justice. The following candidates occupied vacant seats in the Supreme Council in the second round of the elections: Judge Levan Murusidze from Supreme Court (159 votes); Judge Paata Silagadze from Supreme Court (146 votes); Ilona Todua judge at the Tbilisi City Court and member of the Supreme Council of Justice (153 votes); Judge Tamar Alania from the Appeal Court (129 votes).

As for the chairmen of Chamber and Collegiums of the Supreme Council of Justice, chairman of the investigation collegium at the Tbilisi Appeal Court Merab Gabinashvili (168 votes) and chairman of the administrative case collegium at Tbilisi City Court Shota Getsadze (132 votes) were elected for the position. First deputy chairman of the Supreme Court, chairman of the Criminal Case Chamber at the Supreme Court Zaza Meishvili won the first round of the elections.

Chairman of the Supreme Court Konstantine Kublashvili remains in the Council of Justice as a head of the Council; one more judge Giorgi Shavliashvili also keeps his seat in the Council.

Parliament of Georgia will elect non-judge members of the Supreme Council of Justice next week.
