Public Defender Meets with Political Prisoners

On June 3, 2013 the Public Defender of Georgia, Ucha Nanuashvili met with political prisoners and inquired them about their problems. 

Following issues were addressed at the meeting: the need to define terms Politically Repressed and Political Prisoner in national legislation, means of their legal rehabilitation, and creation of effective mechanism for compensation of the damages inflicted by illegal acts of State. 

The Public Defender issued a special statement in order to solve the issues of political prisoners.
